'Haggle' for international travel

That is the message from lastminute.com, which has claimed that arguing over a fair price can make sure that bargains are picked up during the economic downturn.
However, it suggested that using cheap broadband to search for a holiday is the best way to make sure a good deal is found.
Mark Bower, lifestyle sales director at lastminute.com, said: "People should haggle. If you are going in to speak to a travel agent, try to make them work as hard as they can for you to try and get you the best deal.

"You are always going to get the best deals online really. You can get the information from the travel agents but once you've got that information, check it out online because you'll find it a lot cheaper."
It has been forecast by lastminute.com that three million people will increase their holiday spending in 2009, compared to last year.
