Broadband for 19 in 20 connections
News brought to you by Skint Tariffs, providers of cheap broadband deals.Around 95 per cent of internet connections in the UK are via broadband, new figures show.
According to a new report from the Office for National Statistics (ONS), this represents an increase from September's level of 94.1 per cent as both home and business users take advantage of falling broadband connection prices.
Notably, the proportion of higher speed broadband connections has likewise continued to rise, with nearly 60 per cent of all UK users now benefiting from speeds greater than 2Mbps.

At the same time, dial-up connections have continued to decline in number across the country, the ONS figures also show.
However, a recent study carried out by CMA found that around nine in ten UK businesses feel that more should be ensure that the country doesn't get left behind the rest of the world when it comes to next generation broadband.
Glenn Powell, chief executive of CMA, explained that this study highlighted the "urgency with which the measures proposed by the recent interim Digital Britain report are needed".
