Ben Camm-Jones, news editor at Web-User magazine, stated: "Google, as a business, needs to continue to grow in order to keep ahead of its competitors. This means branching out into new areas and it is introducing new services all the time.
"However, it is also prepared to admit to mistakes and close down projects that don't live up to expectations. Google could become ubiquitous - to an extent."
In the four weeks ending May 31st 2008, people with cheap broadband deals used Google for 87 per cent of all searches, according to Hitwise figures.
