A report from Hotels.com has found that Brits are saving £1.7 billion a year by haggling on international travel trips.
Things being haggled for include clothes and souvenirs, activities, sun loungers, restaurant and bar bills and even room upgrades. Another way they could save money is by making cheap international calls.
How to make cheap International Calls
More than three quarters (76 per cent) of people from the UK haggle while on holiday, placing Britain as the haggling capital of Europe.
Alison Couper, director of communications at Hotels.com, said that haggling is a "buzz word for 2009".
"Those who are willing to practise the art of haggling on their holiday are likely to find that their money will go even further," she stated.
France, Germany and then Spain are next in the haggling stakes, with Ireland at the bottom of the list.
