Cheap laptops for cheap broadband

Following the launch in India of a £10 laptop device, Techworld has suggested that computers under £100 could become widespread in years to come.
The Sakshat 2GB device has been launched to act as an educational device in the country.
Latest O2 Broadband Deals
While cheap broadband deals could be available on future discount laptops, John Dunn, editor at Techworld, does not expect them to have the latest technology.
"We will one day see simple computers using older but still usable technology for under £100," he stated.
"There is no fundamental reason why a laptop has to have all the latest tech on it or cost hundreds of pounds."
He added that laptops with cheap broadband for £10 are implausible in the UK as a commercial opportunity.
Deloitte's TMT Predictions 2009 include a statement that the need for technology will remain constant, regardless of global growth.
