Plea to recycle cheap pay as you go mobiles
News brought to you by Skint Tariffs. Providers of price comparison for cheap international calls. An appeal is being made for people to hand in their old cheap pay as you go mobiles, in order to help a good cause.
Many people would have got a new cheap mobile deal for Christmas and are now left with an old handset.
Scope, along with Redeem, is pleading for people to hand these in, the Beverley Guardian reports.
Pay As You Go - Great Savings
Recycling the phones could help make a big difference to people who suffer from disabilities, according to Jamie Rae, chief executive for Redeem.
He told the newspaper: "With only 30 per cent of the 90 million mobile phones in circulation being recycled it's as important as ever that we start encouraging more people to get recycling.
"This is just one of the reasons why people should hand in their unwanted mobile phone to this appeal and help Scope raise valuable funds to help support disabled people to achieve equality."
Redeem plc recently joined up with O2 in another mobile phone recycling initiative.
