New year is always a busy period for international travel and this could lead to more cheap international calls.
The Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA) has claimed that many people arrange breaks in advance in order to get away from it all to start their year in style.
Frances Tuke, spokeswoman for ABTA, commented that the fact it is often a quiet period for employment also encourages people to go on holiday.
How to make cheap International Calls
"Christmas and New Years are always big when it comes to people going away," she said.
"People book them way in advance, they go away to see friends and family, they go away to get away from friends and family and they can also get free days. People expect this time of year to be quiet at work and people take that opportunity."
ABTA includes 900 tour operations in the UK and more than 5,500 travel agencies in its organisation.
