'Growing demand' for cheap pay as you go mobiles broadband

That is the view of The Cloud, which has suggested that demand could soon exceed what operators can actually provide currently.
Niall Murphy, co-founder and chief strategy officer at the organisation, stated that there may need to be major alterations to satisfy people who want new or ungraded cheap pay as you go mobiles.

"There's huge growth in capacity consumption in mobile networks which far outstrips the inherent ability of existing wireless broadband technologies to service it," he said.
"There are going to be some significant changes in the way that the wireless access has to be serviced to meet this demand. The solutions lie in a mix of different areas."
Funding for the next generation of broadband was recently discussed at a seminar in London, with issues such as who will foot the estimated £15 billion bill for its installation being covered.
