Orange launches 'Technocentre'

A new Technocentre has been launched by Orange and it intends to innovate across the mobile phone industry.
As well as working on the development of new cheap pay as you go mobiles, ideas such as sized video-calling screens and text-to-voice services are in progress.
It is set to open on January 5th and will be home to teams of researchers, engineers, marketers and other staff to make up a creative team of 80 staff.

Tom Alexander, chief executive of Orange UK, said: "These are the guys who are moving quickly, in small teams to develop new and exciting services for our customers before any one else does.
"We're now harnessing that potential and making sure that it works directly for the business - and ultimately our customers."
It will be the second half of next year before the first products from the Technocentre are unveiled to the public.
Orange is part of the worldwide France Telecom group.
