People want 'environmentally responsible' mobile network operators

The trend towards wanting more ethical products has extended across industries to include food and drink, retail and countless others.
By being more aware of green issues, mobile phone firms could attract more customers, according to ABI Research.
Pay As You Go - Great Savings
Kevin Burden, ABI Research director, commented that many companies are moving to making more environmentally friendly pay as you go mobiles and other models.
"Several proof products that epitomise a vendor's best greening efforts are currently being marketed," he said.
He added that people "are more likely to buy phones from companies they consider environmentally responsible. That is a potential economic benefit, but hard to measure".
However, the economic climate could be slowing the development of greener mobile phones, he suggested.
