Pay as you go mobile payment 'convenient'

The Mobile Data Association (MDA) believes that the convenience of this technology could lead to people with cheap 3 handsets and other phones taking up mobile payments.
Steve Reynolds, chairman of the MDA, commented that the increasing influence of mobile phones on people will see a natural progression to using them to pay for items.

"This is a new piece of technology that gives the general public a convenience that they have never had before," he stated.
"The convenience that mobile payments allow will create the demand for this technology, but we've got a long way to go yet, with handsets and the whole infrastructure, to make it work on a global basis."
Officials from the MDA and the Digital Communications Knowledge Transfer Network met recently to discuss the future of the technology.
