Pay as you go mobile internet on the up
News brought to you by Skint Tariffs. Providers of price comparison for cheap international calls.The number of young people surfing the internet through pay as you go handsets and other mobile phones has increased by 25 per cent in the last quarter, research has shown.
Growth in mobile internet use has been eight times faster than home broadband and other internet forms, according to a study from Nielsen Online.
It found that the younger generation is dominating the mobile internet market in the UK, with one quarter of all users being aged between 15 and 24.

Kent Ferguson, senior analyst at Nielsen Online, stated: "When it comes to the internet, the huge growth is now happening through the mobile platform.
"The fact that almost seven and a half million Britons now access the web through their phone shows that mobile internet is fast becoming a viable way for advertisers and publishers to reach important demographic groups."
The most popular mobile internet sites are BBC, Google, Facebook, eBay and Hotmail.
Sony Ericsson's new Experia mobile includes special 'panel' links to Hotmail and Facebook.
