Wireless audio devices could replace traditional guided tours for people travelling abroad and choosing to look around tourist attractions.
That is according to audio receiver firm Quietvox, which has suggested that the added speciality of the devices and their personalised nature could see them become more popular than 'umbrella' tour guides.

Sabrina Gallone, who is responsible for the North, Central and Latin American territories for Quietvox, commented that personal decisions such as altering the volume of a tour can add to the fun while on an international travel trip.
"If there is a presentation going on and I might be familiar with an area and do not want to listen to it, a PA system on a bus or a ship does not allow you to have a break for a moment from the presentation," she said.
"With this, each receiver is personal."
In London, there are 833 holders of the lowest tourist guide qualification, the Blue Badge, according to the Institute of Tourist Guiding.
