Instant messaging 'standard' for cheap 3 handsets

ProcessOne believes that in the future, it will be normal for cheap pay as you go mobiles and contract phones to facilitate instant messaging.
Mickael Remond, chief executive of ProcessOne, stated that "stacks" of applications will become a customary part of mobile use.

"Instant messaging will be part of the standard stack for the mobile phone market," he said.
"In most mobile phones today you have a middle client. We think that this is the plan - that instant messaging will be part of the stack that you find."
Forrester Research has suggested that European mobile instant messaging will increase threefold by 2015.
The UK is forecast to be one of the leading nations in the uptake of the technology, with 35 per cent of people predicted to adopt mobile instant messaging within the next six years.
