Money saving travellers head to Iceland

The country has been particularly badly hit by the worldwide economic crisis and this has seen the exchange rate improve further from a British point of view, according to Lonely Planet.
For eager travellers wondering how to save money on a trip, Tom Hall, travel editor of Lonely Planet, suggests now is the perfect time to visit Iceland, calling Rejkavik in particular an "excellent" place to visit.
"Iceland is more affordable now than at any time in the modern era of travel," he said.
Calling Czech Republic
"British visitors to Iceland get nearly 60 per cent more Icelandic Krona for a pound today than a year ago. This means that now is a great time, cost-wise to travel to Iceland."
There has been a 60 per cent increase in visitors to Iceland since the turn of the century, with 485,000 foreign tourists in 2007, compared to just 303,000 in 2000, Statistics Iceland figures reveal.
