Cheap broadband 'official addiction'
News brought to you by Skint Tariffs, providers of cheap broadband deals.People could soon be officially addicted to cheap broadband as China considers classifying internet addiction as a clinical disorder.
Research from Beijing's Health Ministry and other institutes has found that there are parallels between people who are addicted to home broadband and those who are compulsive drinkers or gamblers.
The popularity of the internet has soared in recent years and in China the online population is 253 million people.

Tao Ran, the man behind China's first web addiction clinic, told the Times that he believes the problem exists elsewhere but has happened to occur in China first.
"China finds itself at the forefront of this research because we were among the earliest to set up clinics we had a sufficient sample of patients so that we could carry out proper scientific analysis," he told the newspaper.
"The increase now is not as rapid as it was a few years ago. However, this was the first such clinic in China when it opened in 2005. Now there are several hundred across the country."
Nomophobics are people who are scared of being without their mobile phone.
