Wikitude, a system that acts as an electronic guidebook that runs on cheap pay as you go mobile phones, can combine the thrill of travel with the need to make low-cost international calls.
The system is described by the Times as far more accurate than a normal guidebook, which can become dated quickly.

"It's not perfect. In a city as thick with sights as London, your screen can be a confusing mass of dots, making it fiddly to hit the right one," admitted the Times' Stephen Bleach. "Overall, though, its a revelation."
There are 4,000 locations included in the system for London alone and more models are expected to be released if this one proves to be a success.
Sport, airports, science and museums are the most popular categories that are being searched for by Wikitude users.
