Pay as you go mobiles 'must become more advanced'

Particularly in terms of covering live events, Nortel believes mobile content can get better – and will.
In reference to this summer's Beijing Olympics, Geoff Hall, chief technical officer for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at Nortel, believes that by the time London 2012 arrives, mobiles will "be a lot more powerful".

People who couldn't make it over to Beijing or make cheap mobile calls to China to find out about the action this summer may have watched content on their pay as you go mobile.
Mr Hall commented: "Mobile's got a little bit of catching up to do. Mobile devices will be a lot more powerful.
"They will have bigger screens, more memory and more capacity to store information."
The Beijing Olympic Games were watched by 4.7 billion viewers during the 17 days of competition, figures from the Nielsen Company have indicated.
