International travel enthusiasts could return to hometown hotspots

While many people's idea of a break is travelling abroad, they may find that upon making low cost international calls back home, their hometown has become a hotspot in its own right.
According to Chloe Addo of Travelconnect, which is running the My Town scheme, people should be encouraged to celebrate the historic and quaint locations near their own homes.

"Everyone can think of a great attraction, historic monument or overlooked little town deserving of receiving more visitors, which is why we want to hear from anyone interested in showing-off what their locality has to offer," she said.
"There are some fantastic locations throughout the country that most of us do not know about, which is why we want locals to get in touch and highlight their best spots."
However, people looking for something completely different could be tempted to try Zimbabwe, where an extraordinary situation of hyperinflation has seen $1 million dollar bills being issued.
