Cheap broadband for Olympics 'model for UK'
News brought to you by Skint Tariffs, providers of cheap broadband deals. The cheap broadband network being installed for the 2012 Olympics has been lauded as a model for the entire UK to adopt in the future.
A new Olympic Park network is set to link 94 venues for the event and it could prove a blueprint for a new national high-speed internet system.
Guy Nicholson, the London Borough of Hackney councillor who is leading regeneration for the project, said that the new technology will have a lasting benefit in the UK.
"The capital investment required to put this future network into place will add as much to Olympic Park as it will to the rest of the live sites across the UK," he stated.
"It becomes a model for a new network connecting up the cities and towns of Britain."
Many people have been concerned about the freedom with money spending on the Olympics, but Mr Nicholson insisted the positives "far outweighs what we are spending now".
People will be travelling abroad from over 200 countries to compete in London in four years time.
