Cheap broadband goes royal for Queen's Google visit
News brought to you by Skint Tariffs, providers of cheap broadband deals.People using cheap broadband today may notice a different theme to their searching, as Google has gone royal for the day.
The Queen is visiting the search engine's London offices, where she will tour the innovative UK headquarters of the internet giant.
To mark the occasion, the Google homepage has altered its 'Google Doodle', replacing the letter 'G' with the Queen's picture and also placing a crown above the 'E' in their logo.
A royal party including the Queen and her husband, the Duke of Edinburgh, will meet with Google executives, as well as discuss the environmental benefits of Google Maps.
The royal party could walk to their destination in a green money saving venture, as it is in close proximity to their Buckingham Palace home.
However, the highlight of the visit looks set to be when the Queen is asked to upload a video onto YouTube. The Royal Family has an official channel on the sharing site, which has attracted well over 1.5 million visits.
Other people and characters to have had Google's homepage honour them include Edvard Munch, Andy Warhol and Paddington Bear.
