Surprise UK Android launch

T-Mobile has officially revealed that the G1 will be available in the UK in time for Christmas this year.
The phone will also be free for people opting to go on a £40 per month contract with T-Mobile.
Features of the phone include a slide-out QWERTY keyoboard, a three mega-pixel camera and lots of Android specific games.
However, the main draw is the Google-related features, such as Google Maps, Google Talk instant messaging and a full HTML browser.
T-Mobile UK's head of internet and entertainment Richard Walmsley commented: "One of the things we've focused on is that we've developed this with the idea of social communication in mind, using the internet to interact, being able to say what you want to say online, keep in touch with friends and contacts and so on."
