New luxury phone revealed

A new phone that claims to be the height of luxury has been revealed by its makers, Vertu.

The firm, which is part of Nokia, claim that the Vertu Signature is the most expertly made phone in existence, hand-built over a long amount of time.

Alberto Torres, president of Vertu, said: "When Vertu first started out with the idea of producing luxury phones, the industry thought it would never take off. Vertu was ahead of the times.

"But now, you can see how successful the industry has become, as more competitors are looking to enter this space."

A 'sea of sapphire' face is included on the phone, which can only be scratched with a diamond and features solid ruby bearings.

It is called Signature as each one is singed by its individual creator. People looking for money saving deals should look elsewhere however, with prices expected to be extremely high.

Vertu is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year and is launching white gold and yellow gold editions of the phone to mark this.
