New social network could 'release your inner-author'
News brought to you by Skint Tariffs, providers of cheap broadband deals.A new social network has been launched that is giving people a platform to write and find an audience for their work.
Authonomy is a global online community that users of cheap broadband can access to distribute and even sell their writing, as well as give and receive feedback on other people's work and their own.
While broadband deals are a good example of how to save money, Authonomy could see people making cash through being spotted as the next JK Rowling or Ian McEwan.
Clive Malcher, Harper Collins' digital publisher, believes that "everyone thinks they have a book in them" and this scheme gives them the chance to prove it.
"Creativity is subjective. If you can find an audience, then you have talent," he said.
The move, as well as new devices such as the Sony e-book reader is being seen by some experts as a way to modernise the notoriously stuffy publishing industry and bring books to the attention of more of the broadband generation.
