Samsung announces big money plans for new mobile
News brought to you by Skint Tariffs. Providers of price comparison for cheap international calls.A new mobile handset has been launched by Samsung, with an enormous marketing campaign set to bring it into the public eye.
The Omnia i900 includes a five megapixel camera as well as acess to Microsoft Office and Windows Mobile.
It is being tagged as "everything in one touch", highlighting its touchscreen capabilities and simplicity, with advertising set to be seen on the internet, press and outdoors.
Having budgeted for a £5 million marketing campaign in the UK alone, Samsung is expecting the phone to prove particularly popular, with its worldwide advertising spend expected to exceed £24 million.
Networks such as Orange are running special deals on the mobile, which is also available on T-Mobile and includes a media player and GPS as additional features.
Nokia will soon release the n96 model, while Sony Ericsson is readying its Xperia handset for a late 2008 release, which could suggest that Samsung is attempting to convert people into Omnia i900 subscribers before more competition arrives.
