Internet used more but costing less

Consumer watchdog Ofcom has released a report that shows the amount of time people in the UK are spending using communications services is increasing, but they are spending less money on services.
Internet use has grown more than any other communication sector, with a fourfold jump in the number of people surfing the web reported.
At a time when people are struggling to make ends meet due to the economic crisis, cheap broadband and cheap international calls are continuing to offer consumers welcome breaks from the stresses of daily life.
The amount spent on communications has dropped to £93.63 per month on average, £1.53 less than the previous year, representing an annual decrease for the third year running.
Over half of British homes had broadband by the end of 2006, but there was a further eight per cent rise by January 2008.
