Anti-YouTube attracts web users
News brought to you by Skint Tariffs. Providers of price comparison for cheap international calls.A new website that has been dubbed "the anti-YouTube' is proving popular with discerning users of cheap broadband thanks to some slightly surprising content.
Instead of YouTube's philosophy of the more the merrier which can result in millions of dancing dog videos as well as the odd gem, VideoJug aims to only catch worthwhile content, the Independent reports.
Editorial staff reject 90 per cent of videos submitted, intending to ensure higher quality viewing for cheap broadband users.
The likes of advice videos on subjects as diverse as technology, kissing and parenting are all available among the site's 43,500 professionally made films, providing an informative alternative on the web.
It certainly seems to be working, with a 50/50 split between male and female users and visits in July amounting to 3.25 million.
VideoJug now has bases in London, New York and Santa Monica and is expected to go from strength to strength.
