Mobile phones used for email on the go
News brought to you by Skint Tariffs. Providers of price comparison for cheap international calls.Mobile phones are being used to access email accounts far more than ever before, as consumers look to utilise their mobile phones to save time and effort, experts believe.
Especially in the business world, mobile phones are used to check email inboxes as well as make cheap international calls, according to MobileChoicesUK.com.
However, individuals are catching up, with the website's editor Huw Morgan calling widespread use of email on mobiles the "obvious next step" in Britain.
"We all send emails on a regular basis, either from home or the office, whereas the penetration as far as handsets are concerned isn't that great yet. The percentage is relatively small," he said.
"I think the next step for messaging is not necessarily text messaging, it's more of us starting to get access to our email accounts via our phone. Then you will start to send more videos, photos, that kind of thing."
The Blackberry Bold phone, which offers email facilities is set to go on sale on the T-Mobile network in September.
