News brought to you by Skint Tariffs, providers of cheap broadband deals. The range of people enjoying the benefits of cheap broadband has never been greater, with a group of monks on a remote Welsh island among the latest to sign up for the internet service.
A group of 15 monks from Caldey, off Wales, the Cisternian brothers have switched to broadband in order to improve the productivity of their homemade sweets and perfume business.
In the past five years, turnover has increased by 100 per cent, but Father Daniel, the abbot of Caldey Abbey, believes that broadband can help them earn more from their venture.
"Patience is one of the characteristics of monastic life, but even the patience of the brothers was being tested by our slow, dial-up internet service," he said.
"Broadband access has made a huge difference to our internet usage."
The monks broadband is being provided by TFL Group, which is said to be "absolutely delighted" to be able to help.
46,000 people joined broadband provider AT&T in the last quarter, displaying the continuing appeal of cheap broadband.
