Mobile phones 'could be solar powered'

Solar chargers are set to be included in simple mobile phone packages in Africa by G24 Innovations (G24i), a Cardiff-based company.
However, G24i chairman Bob Hertzberg believes that the chargers could soon be available worldwide for every kind of phone.
"Ultimately in a few years you'll be able to buy your mobile phone or Blackberry fully charged and you'll never have to plug it in," he said.
Difficulty could arise due to the material solar panels are usually made from silicon suffering a global shortage, but G24i has got round the problem by using light-absorbing dyes.
More solar powered products are coming on to the market, with a Voltaic Backpack that is made from recycled soda bottles available that has 11 adaptors gadgets including mobile phones, cameras and mp3 players.
