UK's first 'Fibrecity' to be Bournemouth
News brought to you by Skint Tariffs, providers of cheap broadband deals.Not only can people in Bournemouth receive cheap broadband, they will soon have access to a new super-fast fibre-optic network that will increase the speed of their broadband connections.
The seaside town is set to become the UK's first Fibrecity, with the £30 million project set to begin in September and estimated to take two years to complete.
The costs of broadband in the area could also get even cheaper, as existing sewers will be used to install the network, reducing costs.
Councillor Nick King is extremely excite by the development, which he believes will be beneficial to both residents and businesses in the area.
"Bournemouth is incredibly privileged to have been chosen as the UK's first Fibrecity. This decision is a giant leap forward and gives us a real competitive advantage," he said.
Dundee residents will be pleased to learn they are next in line to receive the new broadband technology,
However, a recent survey revealed Bournemouth is already the UK's happiest town, even without faster broadband.
