ITunes sets mobile music standards
News brought to you by Skint Tariffs. Providers of price comparison for cheap international calls.A survey into the usability of mobile music stores has found that iTunes is setting the standards in the field.
As well as using mobiles to make cheap international calls, many people now use their phones to listen to music on, with a wide variety of mobile music stores available, including Nokia Music Store and Vodafone Music Station.
However, iTunes came out on top in the survey from the Strategy Analytics Wireless Media Lab, gaining the highest user satisfaction ratings and being described as providing a superior mobile music download experience.
It took fewer clicks to play music, search and download using iTunes, leaving more time to make cheap international calls.
The key factors of the research were " layout, search, preview, purchase and playback", with Paul Brown, senior user experience research analyst at Strategy Analytics, believing iTunes to tick more of these boxes than other providers.
"Users were impressed with the iTunes mobile music store. They found it to be well-organised, visually appealing and easy to navigate," he said.
Apple recently launched the iPhone, which was met with enormous anticipation but has struggled to meet demand.
