Money savers heading to comparison websites
News brought to you by Skint Tariffs, providers of cheap broadband deals.Consumers looking for money saving tips as the credit crunch bites are increasingly turning to the internet, where websites with prices from various providers of services and products are helping them find the best deals.
A researcher at traffic analysis firm Hitwise has said that consumers are spending more in time researching goods and services to spend less money buying them.
"With prices rising and the credit crunch biting, consumers are taking more time to find the best deals online," said Hitwise research director Robin Goad.
In total, the number of visits to price comparison websites, such as skinttariffs.com, or websites where consumers can find vouchers for discounted purchases, has increased by 37 per cent over the past 12 months.
While footfall in the high street and out of town shopping centres is down as consumers feel the pinch, more people than ever before are heading to websites in the rewards and directories category.
