Footballer's Facebook message backfires
News brought to you by Skint Tariffs, providers of cheap broadband deals.A Crystal Palace footballer has put his future at the club in jeopardy after posting news of a proposed transfer to Fulham up on his personal Facebook page.
Ashley-Paul Robinson, who made his debut for Palace last season, explained on the website that a trial at Premiership club Fulham was going to take place next week, but anybody with broadband in the London Facebook network could see the information.
The 18-year-old midfielder wrote on his homepage: "Ashley-Paul is goin fulham on Monday. If I pull dis off im on dis ting."
However, Crystal Palace obviously have broadband themselves and are none too pleased with Mr Robinson's online comments. Manager Neil Warnock told the Guardian that he thinks "it's probably better that he looks elsewhere to further his career".
Crystal Palace reached the Championship play-offs last season, losing in the semi-finals to Bristol City, while Fulham survived in the Premiership after a dramatic last-day escape under manager Roy Hodgson.
