Internet 'should be available on the beach'
News brought to you by Skint Tariffs, providers of cheap broadband deals.One in five people believe they should be able to surf the net while watching the surf on the beach or enjoying a pint in the pub, according to a new survey.
The research by T-Mobile also found that just fewer than 50 per cent of people think they should get cheap broadband anywhere at any time.
Mobile broadband's increased popularity has seen T-Mobile's consumer base alter significantly, with one quarter of customers now buying broadband even without instant beach and pub access.
Richard Warmsley, head of internet and entertainment services at T-Mobile, said: "Mobile broadband has reached a tipping point and is now hitting the mainstream.
"Consumers are used to taking their laptops out and about with them and they expect to be connected whether thats in the garden, at the office or in the park."
Mobile broadband is expected to overtake fixed line services by 2010 as using the internet in bars and cafes becomes increasingly popular.
