Broadband users discover secret of faceless people
News brought to you by Skint Tariffs, providers of cheap broadband dealsBroadband users intrigued by the appearance of faceless people are discovering a webpage with a countdown timer.
People with a flesh-coloured membrane which hides all the features of their face beneath a layer of fake skin have been appearing at high profile London events.
A man and woman without faces sat in the stands at Wimbledon and on the grass of Henman Hill, another turned up at Elton John's White Tie and Tiara ball, while a lone anonymous man was seen in the background of footage of the opening of the Harrods sale.
Internet users have had fun speculating what the reason for these appearances is, with some suggesting that beneath the masks there are celebrities hiding their faces from the intrusive media.
Another popular theory is that the faceless creatures are part of a promotional campaign for the Dr Who television series, which some speculate will end with the revelation that the whole show was a documentary about the world.
However, a website named after the faceless people, bears the Lotus logo and a countdown timer which will reach zero the day before the 2008 British International Auto Show opens, suggesting the car maker is building hype for some sort of an announcement.
