Internet advertising to keep growing

As a result, advertising spend on the internet is set to rise to $65.2 billion worldwide this year.
The report from IDC market intelligence forecast 15 per cent to 20 per cent growth, with the internet's share of adspend expected to rise from ten per cent to 13.6 per cent by 2011.
"Compared to more mature types of advertising, Internet advertising is growing at a phenomenal rate," John Gantz, chief research officer at IDC, said. "But Internet advertising is still relatively new and growing from a much smaller base."
The report suggested that the main type of advertising on the internet will be based on keyword ads.
Online travel is one of the sectors most suited to online advertising as most travellers being their journey with an online search.
