Employers turn to social networks to recruit
Broadband users could find the job of their dreams simply by surfing their favourite social networking websites, according to recruitment specialists. As sites such as Facebook and mySpace become increasingly important and an essential part of peoples lives, it is very likely that employers will use them to try to reach job candidates, according to Graduate Prospects.
Jayne Rowley, publishing director at the firm said: As the social networks extend their reach in to professional areas, the Facebook generation will feel entirely comfortable engaging with employers in this way in the future."
She recommended that graduates, and anybody looking for a job, take advantage of all the technology and avenues open to them.
As well as the simple networking sites for friends, specialist professional sites, such as LinkedIn allow people to form networks among colleagues or people they know on a professional basis.
