Third of phone users keep old handsets
News brought to you by Skint Tariffs, providers of price comparison for cheap international calls.Almost a third of mobile phone customers have decided that they do not need to change their mobile handset to keep up with the latest models, according to a recent survey.
The study from Silicon.com revealed that 28 per cent of phone users had kept their same model for one or two years, despite a constant barrage of new handsets coming out.
With all mobile handsets capable of making cheap international calls using skinttarrif.com access codes, it seems some handset buyers have decided that the model they have is enough.
And many respondents also admitted to having their phone for more than one or two years, 15 per cent said they had had their current mobile phone for two or three years, 14 per cent said three to five years and 13 per cent said they had had it between five and ten years.
There was also a small group, one per cent, which said they had the same phone handset as they had ten years ago.
However, some 16 per cent said they had had their phone for less than a year and 13 per cent reported they had got a new one in the last six months.
