T-Mobile gets more mobile broadband customers
More people are signing up to mobile broadband, suggest rising sales figures for T-Mobile.The communications firm reported a year-on-year increase in mobile broadband customers in the first quarter of the year.
In the first quarter of 2008, the amount of mobile broadband customers registering with the firm was four times the amount signing up for its services in the same period last year.
According to a release from T-Mobile, which offers both mobile phone and mobile broadband deals through skinttariffs.com, over a quarter of its new customers are choosing the deal that offers a mobile modem or dongle.
A T-Mobile official said: "In a market which remains highly competitive, we have not chased growth at any cost but have focused on attracting quality customers and building customer satisfaction through continued innovation and superior value. It is very noticeable that growth in mobile broadband usage is accelerating."
T-Mobile also saw growth in its Pay As You Go and contract arms, rising by 400,000 to 17.1 million customers.
