Asbos wanted for loud mobile talkers
News brought to you by Skint Tariffs, providers of price comparison for cheap international calls. Overhearing somebody else's loud mindless conversation on the train home, just when you want to fall asleep and forget work, would merit an anti-social behaviour order (Asbo), according to ten per cent of Britons.
Inconsiderate mobile use was deemed enough of a modern annoyance that one in ten of 2,000 adults surveyed said that it should lead to an ASBO and a year-long phone ban.
Alongside talking loudly, people listening to music too loudly also generated the ire of the great British public.
People who seem to be blowing out their own ear drums listening to heavy metal or drum and bass or teenagers blasting out tinny hip-hop from mobile phone handset speakers, were also on the list of annoyances, Vnunet reported.
As well as filling the air with noise, respondents said that turning it blue boiled their blood, with swearing in public down the phone listed as a good reason for imposing an Asbo on somebody.
People who make phone calls in restaurants were also accused of being inconsiderate.
While there are some annoyances associated with the mobile phone, cheap international calls using skinttariffs.com access codes is one of the benefits.
