Google launches banners for mobile surfers
News brought to you by Skint Tariffs, providers of cheap broadband deals.Google is looking to capitalise on the growing number of people set to surf the web from their mobile handset.
As mobile phone consumers get used to using their device to browse web pages, as well as making cheap international calls using access codes from skinttariffs.com, the search giant wants to advertise to them.
According to PC World, organisations that use Google's AdWords to advertise on the internet can also select the option to place banner adverts on mobile phone screens, a step up from the simple text previously offered.
Each advert will have a line of text identifying it as such and clicking on the banner will take the user to a mobile web page for the advertising company.
The move towards graphical banners is part of the increasing sophistication of the mobile internet which as time goes by offers an experience which resembles "the real internet" more and more.
