O2 opens incentives to staff
Mobile phone operator O2 is to turn all its employees into sales staff by offering them all the opportunity to earn an incentive by signing customers on to its broadband service. However, people looking to join the company do not need to track down a member of O2 staff, instead they can find deals through skinttariffs.com.
Meanwhile employees at the firm could find themselves making cheap international calls to boast to friends and relatives abroad of the cash rewards they are getting.
And the offer is open to all O2 staff, with part-timers also eligible for the scheme.
This follows from the last Thanks a Million reward scheme which gave cash sums to employees after O2 was voted the best mobile phone provider for customer service.
HR director Ann Pickering told Personnel Today: The broadband reward scheme will provide a single target for all of O2's employees regardless of their background."
She added: "This signals the people agenda is at the forefront of everything we do. It made an enormous difference for the HR team as it showed the company really valued what they do."
