Broadband holds key to evolution

Using their full set of fingers and opposable thumb, broadband users can surf the internet to brows through the first draft of Charles Darwin's Origin of Species.
The study, which is one of the pieces in The Complete Works of Charles Darwin Online Pieces, is part of a "treasure trove", according to the project director.
He said: "The release of his papers online marks a revolution in the public's access to -- and hopefully appreciation of -- one of the most important collections of primary materials in the history of science."
And, using broadband providers such as Virgin or Sky which is available through skinttariffs.com users will be able to bring up the pages of the vast archive more quickly than through dial-up.
Also available to peruse are notes Darwin took while on his five-year journey on the HMS Beagle.
