Holidaymakers should organise cheap calls 'and insurance'
News brought to you by Skint Tariffs, providers of price comparison for cheap international calls. Travellers should not only organise deals which enable them to make cheap calls from their mobile when abroad but also ensure they have adequate insurance.
Many people who take their mobile phones on holiday with them contact firms that offer deals on international calls before they fly to ensure they are not paying over the odds.
But travellers are not always making sure that they also organise appropriate travel insurance for their trip as well.
According to the British Insurance Brokers' Association (Biba), tourists should think hard about the kind of holiday they are going to take to make sure they have adequate cover.
Graeme Trudgill, technical and corporate affairs executive for Biba, said: "What you have to think about as a traveller is: 'OK, I am going on holiday. What do I want to do? What am I likely to do?'
"If you are going on a beach holiday, you might be doing some paragliding there. If so, make sure you are covered for that and try and get a policy that does not charge any extra."
Those who are planning to take expensive items such as mobile phones on holiday with them are also urged to check with their insurance provider that they are covered.
