Weak dollar sees Brits flock to US

An increase in holidaymakers to the US due to the weak dollar is expected to see thousands of Brits make international calls home to their family and friends.
According to the Association of British Travel Agents (Abta), the current state of the economy across the pond is encouraging more UK travellers to head their on shopping trips.
"Thanks to the growth in no-frills travel many of us are choosing to spend our cash overseas," Frances Tuke, a spokesperson for Abta, said. "Almost a quarter of Britons now do their Christmas shopping abroad, not to mention the millions spent with foreign websites and mail order companies."
As well as going shopping, Brits are also expected to make international phone calls on their mobile in order to stay in touch with loved ones and take 'shopping orders' from friends.
Speaking about travelling to the States, Ms Tuke said: "The dollar is looking quite weak at the moment so it does seem the time to go.
"We've seen it quite low for a while now so we've seen some good figures to the US.
"You've got to be careful about your tax limit, but otherwise it's a good place to go shopping. Any other countries that take the dollar will also be good places to go."
