O2 mobile customers get access to 5m songs

News brought to you by Skint Tariffs, providers of price comparison for cheap international calls.
As well as using their O2 mobile phone to dial an access code and make cheap international calls, users of the network provider will also have access to five million songs to download.
O2, which offers mobile phone deals through skinttariffs.com, has signed a deal with online music site Napster, giving O2 customers access to the online vendor's catalogue.
The deal is part of growing interest by mobile companies in the music business after there was a 50 per cent increase in downloads to phones and computers last year.
For Napster the deal made sense because O2 already has various musical associations.
Thorsten Schliesche, Napster's European marketing director said: "O2 was an obvious partner because of its significant footprint in the music world, such as sponsorship of the Wireless Festival and the O2 Dome."
Not only that, but O2 are the exclusive network provider of the iPhone in the UK.
Songs, which customers with any one of a range of over 30 handsets will be able to download, will cost 99 pence each, or £4 for a bundle of five.
