Landlines get 'more complaints than mobiles'
News brought to you by Skint Tariffs, providers of price comparison for cheap international calls. Customers complain up to three times more about their landline provider than their mobile phone service, according to an industry expert.
Hamish MacLeod of the Mobile Broadband Group (MBG), told Radio Five Live's Wake up to Money show that landline users complained more than mobile users, despite the mobile phone market being "two or three times bigger".
He said that the volume of complaints about landlines is "two or three times the size of what occurs in the mobile industry".
Mr MacLeod, whose organisation counts O2, Orange, T-Mobile, Vodafone, 3 and Virgin Mobile among its members, all of which offer deals through skintarriffs.com, also explained the purpose of the MBG.
He said its goal was to "bring about an optimal regulatory environment across a range of issues".
Mr MacLeod also warned consumers to be on the lookout for dealers who deliberately go bust to avoid honouring contracts.
But he warned these were just a minority, saying: "There are thousands of dealers out there and the vast majority of these dealers are trading honourably and profitably."
