Free international calls to Zambia

Free calls to Zambia is no longer available. The mobile providers phased this out in late 2007. However the 07744 and 0870 (o2 users) numbers can be used by some contracts and pay as you go phones to provide a cheaper rate than your provider offers.

How to use

Simply dial the access number 07744 588 866, wait for the prompt, dial the number you are calling and then press the # key (you can dial your number during the voice prompt if you have heard it before, there is no need to press 'call' again).

Please check the destination country is listed and available and your service package prior to calling.

How can I check this?

Simply call your service provider and ask whether 07744 588 866 is included within your free minutes (there is no need to mention skinttariffs when you call your service provider). Service provider support numbers are:

Virgin Mobile : 789 from your mobile or 0845 6000 789 from a landline

Vodafone : 191 from your mobile or 08700 700 191 from a landline

Orange : 150 from your mobile phone or 07973 100 150 from any other phone

O2 : Call 0870 241 02 02 and check if 0870 041 3496 and 0844 545 6169 is allowed within your free minutes.

How can I program the number into my phone for one-touch dialling?

For convenience, you can store your s-k-i-n-t mobile dial through number in front of the numbers you call most often on your mobile phone so you never forget to use it.

There are two ways to do this, you can either save the number into the phone book on your phone in the regular way, or you can edit an existing number in your phone book to include the s-k-i-n-t mobile dial through number and dial using pause dialling. This can be done as follows:

On a Nokia phone: Step 1 Enter the s-k-i-n-t mobile dial through number; Step 2 Press * 3 times to show 'p' (this causes dialling to pause) ; Step 3 Enter your destination number, including the full international code) For example: 07744 588 866 p 001 XXXX XXXX.

On a Seimens or Panasonic phone: Step 1 Enter the s-k-i-n-t mobile dial through ; Step 2 Press and hold '0' to show '+' (this causes dialling to pause) ; Step 3 Enter your destination number, including the full international code) For example: 07744 588 866 + 001 XXXX XXXX.

On a Motorola or Ericsson phone : Step 1 Enter the s-k-i-n-t mobile dial through number ; Step 2 Press and hold to show 'p' (this causes dialling to pause) ; Step 3 Enter your destination number, including the full international code) For example: 07744 588 866 p 001 XXXX XXXX.

Are there any other terms or conditions I should know about?

There are a few other things to bare in mind.

• You must have inclusive minutes to benefit from this service pay-as-you-go customers will be charged
• You should check with the person who owns the phone before you make the call (if it is not you).
• You should call the customer service number of your provider shown above, if you have any doubt that the number you are calling is covered.
• If you are still unsure as to whether the mobile dial through number is included in your free minutes make a short 1 minute phone call then check your next bill for the call charges.
